AI can be a powerful tool, but it is being abused by big tech and individuals alike to great detriment. I have very strict guidelines I hold myself to on how I use it, disclose that use and how I allow it to be used for training.
How I Use AI
- I will never use AI to generate posts, either in part or in full. The writing is always my own.
- I will never use AI to generate comment replies.
- I will rarely, if ever, use AI in research for posts. If I do, any answers I'm given will be thoroughly vetted for accuracy.
- Occasionally, I may use AI assistance for images used in posts or as header images. Typically, this will be to combine two images into a single image to represent a theme. Fully generated images will be rare. I do this because I have no art skills and don't have the resources to pay artists to make them for me.
How I Disclose AI Use
- Any time AI is used, it will be disclosed clearly and unambiguously.
- Disclosure will include what service was used and whether it was used for assistance in generating the content or if it was used to fully generate it.
How AI Can Be Trained On My Content
- I strictly forbid any and all use of my content for AI training without my explicit, written consent. This includes but is not limited to text, images, audio, video and other elements. Consent may be granted in very limited circumstances for non-profit, purely academic purposes.
- All of my personal content is protected by copyright and I reserve the right to enforce it as I see fit. Fair Use is not a defense to do for-profit, uncredited and uncompensated AI training without permission.
- I utilize Cloudflare services that are designed to block AI content scrapers, but many AI companies don't respect them and have ways around them. Discovery of this restriction being bypassed will result in an IP ban.
